Welcome from the President and
Chair of the Board of Directors
Dear students and parents,
University Preparation College offers a range of courses from approved ELICOS English to a VETAB accredited vocational program. We are particularly proud of our association with the University of New South Wales Foundation Year and have a quality English language curriculum with pathways to that university. Our vocational education program is broad, offering courses in Accounting, IT and Child Care with others to follow. Our teachers have all been carefully chosen for their expertise and teaching skills and will share their knowledge with you and keep you busy with your studies, also helping you to enjoy the experience of learning in a friendly and caring environment. Whether your future plans include a degree from a prestigious university or a quality career in industry we have the pathways in place to get you there.
Our Board of Directors is made up of successful academics, professionals and businessmen who have also studied at Australian universities and experienced life as overseas students or immigrants in a new country. Further, each Board member is well respected and has good networks in the community. This experience and community knowledge will help us to care for you.
Happy and quickly settled students get better results in their studies so finding the right place to live and making friends is very important. We will therefore pay attention to your needs in all parts of life - academic and social. Furthermore, the Directors and staff are always available to talk with you and your parents.
The education and welfare of UPC students are our utmost
concern.

A university degree is one of the most valuable investments you can make in life. Although it is relatively small commitment of time in your life span, it provides you with the knowledge and discipline to cope with a career in business or a technical profession.
As a professor I see many students at the start of their university studies and again at graduation and I am always amazed to see the transformation that occurs over this time. Students enter university life with a combination of optimism and fear of the unknown.
When I see the students again at graduation, they have a new confidence gained from hard work and practical experience. Maturity, independence, discipline and knowledge are the greatest reward you can get from a university degree.
A university is a large community of intelligent people, all with their own special talents, and I am sure that you will enjoy being part of such a community. Whether business or commerce, natural science or social science is your interest, University Preparation College is the right vehicle to take you there.
