  • Obtaining a Student Visa

  • Under Australian Government regulations, all international students are required to hold a valid student visa.

After processing your application, UPC will send you a Letter of Offer. You will use this letter to apply for a student visa by contacting the Australian Diplomatic Mission (ADM) in your country. After you receive a letter from the ADM to confirm that you will be issued a visa, you proceed to pay your tuition fees and Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) and UPC will issue you a Confirmation of Enrolment (COE).

Take this final document to the ADM to get your entry visa to Australia.

If you are already in Australia, you may extend your current visa by sending a Visa Application Form 157Y and supporting documents directly to the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC), NSW Student Centre at 26 Lee Street, Sydney NSW 2000. A complete checklist of documents which need to be sent can be obtained from their Administration Office or by telephoning the UPC Student Centre Enquiry Line on 02 9791 6020.

  • Health Cover (OSHC)

  • The Australian Government requires that, as part of their visa requirements, all international students pay health insurance in Australia through the Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) Scheme.

There are 4 registered providers of OSHC and UPC's preferred provider is OSHCWorldcare. If you decide to purchase your OSHC from the UPC's preferred provider, you can arrange it yourself or through UPC when paying your tuition fees. If you ask us to arrange it for you, we will receive a commission which is used to improve services to students.

If you decide to purchase your OSHC from one of the other providers, you will not be financially disadvantaged but you
must arrange it directly with the provider yourself. The other OSHC providers are: BUPA Australia Health, Medibank Private and Australian Health Management (AHM).

    Please note:
Membership of health insurance schemes in your home country does not exempt you from paying the OSHC.
